The Amazon Web Services Blog reveals a simple search syntax to turn Google into your own personal (free) Napster:
-inurl:(htm|html|php) intitle:”index of” +”last modified” +”parent directory” +description +size +(wma|mp3) “Nirvana”
Just replace Nirvana with a song or artist of your choice to display a results page of indexes that contain downloadable MP3s.
P.S. Don’t steal music.

The folks from I-hacked made a little site that does this for you, G2P.org. Finds music files, as well as ebooks, and can also work as a proxy.

Well, isn’t that old as the world?!
I’ve noticed that this blog has a tendency to post some old forgotten stuff as it is a new discovery but this just amazed me:)
Just because it’s not new doesn’t mean it’s not useful any more than it means that everyone knows about it. One person’s old, standard, business as usual is someone else’s news and hack, and I’d like to think we do a pretty good job of appealing to an audience with a pretty wide range of technical knowledge.
despite this being old, its pretty useful. Also, the folks from I-hacked made a little site that does this for you, G2P.org . Finds music files, as well as ebooks, and can also work as a proxy.
I’ve made a special search engine for this! It’s called Search Hacker. You can easily find MP3 files and many other file type formats like: mpg, avi, mov, wmv, 3gp, webcams, torrents, wav, mid, avi,…you name it!
Have a try.
