$500 is a bit steep for a solution seeking a problem :P
Well, but if you fancy something LIKE this for any reason, you can follow their instructions and scale down the cost. Artists are always looking for new ways of controlling the sounds and visuals they make in software, so I’d say there is a problem seeking a solution — whether or not this is the best solution to the problem being entirely up to you.
Also, this just in: the creators are offering a limited-run on the logic board for $80. Still won’t be cheap once you add on the buttons, etc., but could save some money — and give you the satisfaction of building it / adapting the design to your desires.
