I often find getting out of bed in the morning a bit tricky. When i have somewhere to be at a certain time, i get up pretty reliable. However when I want to get up it always seems that I manage to turn off my alarm clock before fully waking up. Put it on the other side of the room? Multiple alarms? Sooner or later I acclimatise, and fall back to old habits… This instructable will hopefully show you how to put your alarm under lock and key! This is the safety alarm clock.

I suffer from this affliction about once a week, usually on the day I am supposed to drive the car pool. I either somehow am able to completely turn off the alarm, turn the volume down, or hit snooze enough to make me even more late.
I see this as an excellent solution, other than the wife might get upset on the mornings where I forget where I put the keys. The only other downfall I see is that it would just be too easy to just unplug the infernal contraption from the wall, or pull the old “Ground Hog Day” trick that Bill Murray did.. Smash it to pieces.
I’ll have to crack it open to see what kind of mods I could do to mine. That or actually quit surfing Makezine early enough to where I get to bed at a reasonable time.
