MAKE on the Summer Fun Show!
MAKE was on the Canadian DIY show 94.9 CHRW- Audiozine wants to embody the spirit of DIY Culture – an attitude of independence and self-reliance. Often embraced by feminists, “doing-it-yourself” is also often politically motivated, although DIY-ers often just want to save money, or to be crafty. We talked about Summer fun. Link.
Introducing the worlds first wood burning generator / Turbine wood-stove: self starting, runs on wood, garbage or bio-mass (or anything else you can stuff into the combustor that burns and gives off good heat), totally self sufficient – can be run in remote locations without gas or diesel fuel, expected to produce around 2,000W continuous, DC output: 24V @ 80A, AC output: 120 – 240V @ 50-60Hz (AC output will depend upon battery and inverter capacity) [
Great list! Vendors listed on this page sell miscellaneous and surplus hardware, tools, lab supplies, motors, adhesives, Dremel bits, screws, gizmos, and whatnots. Stuff you might need for successful hardware building and hacking, stuff you’re inclined to packrat until just the right project comes along. These people aren’t your average thick-cataloged every-part-number-under-the-sun guys—they’re the other guys; the random crap purveyors of the world.
Qucs is an integrated circuit simulator which means you are able to setup a circuit with a graphical user interface (GUI) and simulate the large-signal, small-signal and noise behaviour of the circuit. After that simulation has finished you can view the simulation results on a presentation page or window. The software aims to support all kinds of circuit simulation types, e.g. DC, AC, S-parameter, Harmonic Balance analysis, noise analysis, etc.
