Make Mead like Tom, Who is Tom? Tom Repas, MD is the two-time winner of the venerated international mead makers Mazer Cup competition held every year in Colorado. This mead making short course is targeted to helping you become better at making this amazing beverage. Some of the topics covered; how different flavor characteristics of honey affect the flavor outcome of mead. How different temperatures and different yeasts affect mead flavor, Sanitation and microbiology of food safety. Controlling flavors answering what is a good mead. Bottling safety. Sulfates use or not to use.. How much honey to water you need to use to achieve a good balance. What equipment will be needed? Time needed to make great mead, why your patience will be rewarded with fermentation and time. There is a lot of information on the internet; internet-Myths will be busted on mead making.
