Back in the day, before iPods were standard-issue for the under-10 set, the Fisher-Price record player was, literally, the jam. ย Kid-friendly, fully functional phonograph fun. ย With your own collection of toy plastic records, you could rock out to any number of beloved childhood tunes until Mom came to tuck you in.
The slicing has stopped, the extruders have cooled, and the PLA is spooled and ready for its next printing assignment. MAKE’s unprecedented 3D Print Shop Weekend is over. Yesterday was a thrill and change. We had a very productive day (and night) and were able to accomplish three tests on many of the machines. Today we’re doing more testing and at 3pm PDT will be hosting a Google+ Hangout on Air to share the weekend’s grand adventure and to join up with offsite 3D printing enthusiasts.
We’re putting these printers through their paces. We’ve done simple tests, torture tests, and beauty tests. For the first print, we went with Zomboe’s Snake model (seen here). We’re putting all of the test prints in labeled bags so we can keep them all straight and compare/photograph them later.
