Help others learn how to make things or how to think like a maker at makerspaces, schools, universities, and local communities. The importance of maker education can not be understated. If you were at the New York Hall of Science in September, you probably noticed Cognizant’s presence at the Young Makers Pavillion. Together with Intel, the MacArthur Foundation, and O’Reilly Media, Cognizant is a partner in the nonprofit Maker Education Initiative, which provides grants historically ranging from $15,000-$30,000 to community organizations running “hands-on, Maker-movement inspired programs in an after-school or summer camp setting, or within the school day when conditions allow.”
