If you are a cabinet maker, geometry is essential to all the lengths and angles that you calculate. The cabinet shown here goes further and presents the solution to a rather difficult dissection problem. This is the simplest perfect squared square. The entire area is a square and it is divided into squares of distinct integer sizes.

Diane spotted this interesting idea from London designer Lucy Norman, who writes: “There is currently no infrastructure set up to recycle the paper from books because the paper is low grade and the glue on the spine must be removed. I so love and admire the work of Jeffrey and Jillian of Because We Can. They trade in wonder. Everything they do is infused with at least a little (or a lot of) pixie dust. I met them at the first Maker Faire Austin, when they presented their CNC-built art mini golf course, and I was in awe of the creativity and ingenuity in evidence. At the latest Maker Faire Bay Area, true to form, they presented a talk on The Secrets of Secret Doors. So cool.
