This impressively complex deployable spaceframe was designed by Studio Dror. It’s called Volume.MGX and was printed via selective laser sintering (SLS). I guess hanging it over a light bulb and calling it a “lamp” makes for better video than setting a piece of glass on it and calling it a “table.” Still, fun to watch it squish and un-squish.

It’s a full-size chair version of one of those little wooden toys with segmented legs that collapses when you release the internal tension. I’ve heard them called “swoon toys.” This furniture-scale version called Lazy Chair, by UK designers Fresh West, stands back up rather more slowly than the toys; it takes about 45 seconds in the video above.
