Finally after many, many yeas of running on everything-but-your-toaster NetBSD is there too. Technologic Systems has made a toaster that is controlled by NetBSD and powered by one of their ARM boards, the TS-7200. Everything is controlled through sysctl, there are LEDs that show you what is going on, the toaster can play MP3s while it fries the bread and even has Apache/PHP installed… [via] Link.

Dream to access all my TiVo recorded shows off my Series 2 with TiVoToGo from anywhere, any device, anytime. This dream came through with Orb! Macs may eventually get lots of Viri and Spyware, but can this be right? Consumerreports says – Macs are safer than Windows PCs for some online hazards. Only 20 percent of Mac owners surveyed reported detecting a virus in the past two years, compared with 66 percent of Windows PC owners. Just 8 percent of Mac users reported a spyware infection in the last six months vs. 54 percent of Windows PC users. [via] Link.

Javacast is an Enhanced Podcast to Java MIDlet (J2ME) converter for Mobile Phones. It is to be used by Podcasters to convert their Enhanced Podcasts to Java MIDlets. Hardmac.com has videos and more- OS X on a PC…The Apple Developer kit version of MacOSX x86 has indeed been fully cracked! An anonymous source has sent us a video showing MacOSX x86 booting natively on a Pc notebook Mitac 8050D (Pentium-M 735/1.6GHz). As you can see the boot phase is rather fast, and the error message at the end is simply due to an authorization error on the kext allowing PS/2 support. [via] Link.
