Despite being a knitter’s worst nightmare when they munch on your yarn (as our very own Haley Pierson-Cox had the misfortune of recently experiencing herself!), it turns out that the distinctive markings on moths translate beautifully into knitted fabric, as Max Alexander’s wonderful series of knitted moths clearly illustrates.

She’s exhibiting at least 7 different knitted sculptures of specific types of moths, including one that’s 2 meters long, as well as the Luna, Footman, and Garden Tiger moths pictured here.
