Make a Candy-Pooping Reindeer from a Pringles Can

There’s a lot of DIY reindeers out there: paper reindeer, soft reindeer, origami reindeer, edible reindeer… but can any of those poop candy? This project from Ananda over at A Piece of Rainbow is a simple DIY reindeer made from items you’re likely to have around the house and, yes, it can poop candy.

The body is made out of a Pringles can (as you can clearly see from the pics), but Ananda says that any cardboard tube will work if the candy chute mechanism is proportioned. You can choose to keep the tube exposed or you can easily cover it in paper or paint. Craft sticks serve as legs.

The bowels of the reindeer (so to speak) are constructed from stiff paper. There’s a small funnel to hold the candy, a folded push stick that attaches to the head and fits into a corresponding chute. When the head is pulled down a few M&Ms get pushed through the chute and out the business end of your reindeer.

It’s silly and simple, and I can imagine that kids would have almost as much fun making this as they would making the reindeer poop candy. The only flaw: it only holds about 30 M&Ms — not enough by a long shot! Ananda has more photos and instructions on her blog.
