The Dremel 3D45 is a new and improved version of last year’s 3D40. It has the same build space and physical size with more features and functionality.
The new removable heated glass build plate and upgraded extruder nozzle allow for printing in ABS and nylon. A new cloud slicer lets you remotely access your printer from anywhere with your Dremel account, and its built-in “fix” option will try to fill errors in your model before directing you to print settings. The slicer software works well but could definitely use some tweaks. It’s a brand-new platform, so we’ll give it the benefit of the doubt that they are actively improving it.
Dremel actively markets this machine as a learning device and their design embodies that. It produces quality, repeatable results in a compact, fully enclosed, quiet package.
