The iGloLED programmable RGB rope light kit falls somewhere between your garden variety X-mas tree lights and professional grade carnival ride lights. At $300 for a 16.4′ set of 120 lights, they’re one of the more expensive options out there, but if you’re looking for a novelty lighting effect that’s fun to operate, the iGloLED set has to be one of the cooler options out there. They’ve been out for a while now, but have been an iPhone-only option until now.

The latest Google Android reference phone from Samsung, the Nexus S packs in all of the latest must-have features into a sleek and trim package. The latest operating system, near field communication for transactions, a super fast CPU, and a gorgeous Super AMOLED screen combine to make this one snazzy gadget. The folks over at iFixit were kind enough to snap one up and tear it apart to everyone’s amusement.

I’ve got to build one of these. I usually leave out gobs of food in a couple of bowls expecting my cat to exercise his free will, but this seems like so much more fun. Usually it’s the cat that’s playing the games. And who isn’t interested in Arduino, Android, and 3D printed parts? It’s like some perverse Internet-connected feline vending machine, but instead of some elaborate scheme involving payment gateways and QR codes, it relies on toxoplasmosis-induced mind control. Who’s the robot now?
