Artist Lisa Congdon created a lovely log-cabin quilt square which was used to illustrate the cover of a diary. The description says it’s meant for ages 4+, but I think crafters of all ages would enjoy a sweet-looking book like this. Link.
If you’ve ever skipped binding a quilt because you were intimidated by creating those tricky-yet-beautiful mitered corners, check out QuiltLady50’s step-by-step tutorial on Flickr. [via] Link.
Derek and Lauren on design*sponge show you how to take vintage men’s shirts and transform it into this spiffy patchwork quilt! Link.
Flickr user Stitchindye turned a colorful IKEA duvet cover into a baby quilt, adding stitching around each number, which makes the whole thing appear to be appliquéd. She used the same fabric and technique to make a bag as well (which you can buy via Etsy here). Simple but effective! Link.
Wee Wonderfuls started off thinking she’d make a super-involved gingerbread house-inspired quilt, and ended up with this simple (and dare I say, even cuter) graphic gumdrop quilt. The sparkly “sugar” crystals on the gumdrops are actually pearly snaps! Link.
