I love this transformation of a Solarbotics Photopopper into a drawbot, simply by attaching an alligator clip to the back of the bot and clipping on a pen. The site is in Spanish. Here’s a translation of the page, though the image pretty much speaks for itself. In the Maker Shed: Photopopper Photovore 5.0 Our […]
Rob Meyer built this amazingly small (1/18th scale) R2-D2 with three of Solarbotics GM15 pager gearmotors. It uses two of the motors in the drive train and one to rotate the mech’s dome. It measures 2.36รขโฌยณ/6cm tall! [via Solarbotics] Rob Meyer Productions
Our pal Jeri Ellsworth got to don the telepresence rig for the Anybots robot. Cool stuff. My favorite part of the vid is this exchange: Jeri: “I’m scared to crash it” Anybots’ Trevor Blackwell: “You should be.” Now that’s no way to instill confidence! :-)

The Propeller Robot Control Board is the brains of the system providing […]
I love this funky robotic arm that looks like it’s something from the set of Terry Gilliam’s Brazil. The arm is constructed of techno-junk, recycled PCB material, cassette motors, 15-gauge wire, fishing line. The “brains” for the arm is a 6502 CPU from the 1980s. Tres retro! While you’re on the site, check out some […]
