After enjoying the Edison phonograph kit I acquired one of Gakken’s EX-150 electronics kit (aka – Denshi Blocks) quite cheaply on the ebays. On top of the neat-o pseudo military aesthetic the kit’s modular components are quite satisfying to arrange and click into place. This is the original version circa 1976 but Gakken has since reissued the kit in ’02 along with an optical expansion package.
I’ve yet to try out the included microphone and earpiece – so far the photocell/speaker combo has been entertaining enough on its own – Gakken EX-150 on Flickr
