Boston area’s Willoughby & Baltic is accepting applications for their artist in residence program

Willoughby and Baltic is dedicated to the advancement of physical computing and industrial arts as a medium by providing work space, education, public programming, and exhibitions. The facilities at Willoughby and Baltic support the creative process of working to integrate physical computing with traditional tools. Our electronic assembly space hosts a wide array of electronic equipment, plus benchtop tools for small scale prototyping. The machine shop and woodshop offer unlimited possibilities for fabricating with wood and metal. Our community space is a brainstorming and design facility for meeting and interacting with other artists.
In order to support the creative process, Willoughby and Baltic offers a 6 month residency for two emerging artists. Each artist is granted a free, non-living shared studio space and a small material stipend. The studio is complete with free wi-fi and access to electronic assembly tools and modelmaking equipment, a machine shop, and a woodshop. The residency will commence on May 1st and end on October 31st, 2009.The deadline for submitting an application to the Artist-in-Residence program is March 31st, 2009.
