Keep in mind that this only works if the fan is within 2 inches of the soldering iron.

I am working on a mod to this project. A 92MM 12V fan with grills mounted front and back. Use a lockline or other stand to keep the fan level with the board you have it in a vice.

The Batteries will be mounted in a project box that will act as a stand for the fan when it is sitting the work table. There will be a loop of some type so that it can be hung at the level if the solder board in the vice.

Lock Line 3rd hand tool: http://www.instructables.com/id/Third-Hand-A-multi-use-helping-hand-for-electro/

Instead of lock line, a creatively bend coat hanger will work well also.

I’ll post pictures when I get it done.
