MakeDo gives you the tools to attach stuff together — and you supply the stuff. They’re Australian but ship free worldwide. [Via Dornob]

At first glance, it looks kind of cool, but it really makes me think ways to accomplish the same goal with normal house-hold items. When I was a kid growing up, we didn’t need any attachements or fasteners to make cardboard forts. We just used a pen/marker and a knife/scissors to cut out the doors and windows, etc. I fyou wanted something to open/close, you just fold the cardboard. I think simple stuff like tape and staples worked fine for us as kids. If we really wanted to get creative, we would us a brad or paperclips or something like that. Seems over-engineered, and just creates more plastic junk.

Very similar to Mr McGroovy’s cardboard rivets and plans.
First let me say I have not used them.
They are hermaphroditic and assemble without tools. Disassembly does require a claw hammer or something similar to pull the fasteners apart. One advantage over the Makedo type is that they are almost flush with the cardboard on both sides.
