We are excited to announce a new, fun competition for makers of all ages at Maker Faire Bay Area! The Moat Boat Paddle Battle will be holding its inaugural event May 16-17.
The MBPB is a drag race style event where contestants will race their own 3D printed boats against others, seeking the triumph of victory. Boats can be from original designs or provided samples, and are powered solely by rubber bands. Races will run down 12′ troughs in a single elimination tournament.
We’ll have three classes: Youth 12 and under Closed, Youth 13-18 Closed, and Open Class. Open Class will provide designers and engineers of every skill level an opportunity to join in.
This event is brought to you by the teams at Ocean State Maker Mill, Make, and SeeMeCNC. To find out more and to enter the competition, please visit the Moat Boat Paddle Battle page and stay tuned here for previews from racers and teaser videos and of course PRIZE DETAILS!
