About the throne mounted on 55 gal drum: Not sure why there is a screen under the lid... the screen implies airflow, the lid implies a air-proof cover... And I have to assume the screen is removed before one's business is performed. So why not incorporate the screen into the lid? (if airflow is needed) OR the weather-seal into a solid lid (if airflow and flies are to be excluded)
Love the ping-pong ball idea...Posted by RSanger on November 05, 2012 at 19:39:41 Pacific Time

yes the screen is removed before use. Yes your ideas are good, that's the way to do it. This way is just the easiest quickest way for me to get a bugproof poo barrel right now.
The diagram of the urine diverting funnel in this issue is incorrect, it should be smaller and off-center. I don't use a funnel with mine, I pee separately.
thanks for the comment! happy humanuring!
