Serendipity plays a roll in a lot of my favorite tales of crafty adventures, and this extraordinary series of rope masks by designer Bertjan Pot is no exception. Pot attempted to make a rug by stitching coils of rope together, but when the results came out too curved to be a rug, Pot changed his plans and made these fantastic masks from his ropy rug efforts.
