CRAFT and Ilovetocreate present The Crafty Chica Love Shrine Challenge. This is the second in my series of three Love Shrine tutorials. Please join in the fun and create your own unique and personal shrine and add it to the challenge flickr pool. We have great prizes for the winners, but we all know the real prize is the love, right?
My wedding was a casual picnic in the country. Modest and lovely. My husband’s ring is steel with rubber grommet inlays. Mine is a dark green checkerboard-cut gem that looks like a cocktail ring. So, when I started collecting elements for my Wedding Love Shrine, I was suprised how I was drawn to a pallet of silver sparkles and diamond rings. But, I think it must have been The Crafty Chica speaking to me as my muse. I went with it. I poured on the glitter and love the result.

Step 1: Gather your materials and choose a box that will accommodate them. Find a container that is sturdy, and that has a bit of depth to it. For this love shrine, I used the lid that matched the box in my first shrine.

Step 2: Add paper collage to the box. I cut a giant diamond ring from my old Martha Stewart Weddings. It was the perfect proportion to frame the contents.

Step 3: GLITTER! I’ve been hoarding some stunning German glass glitter. This was the perfect choice. I coated the entire back of the box with the sparkly stuff. There is no such thing as too much when you are letting The Crafty Chica be your inspiration!

Step 4: Complete the story with your embellishments. I glued a string of white beads to the top left hand corner of the box. They hang down and add movement and also cast a shadow that I really like. I set a small wedding photo in the bottom along with a set of wooden tiles from a letterpress that spell the word Love. A tiny crystal buddah and a veil like draped ribbon complete the scene.
