Fans of Ruth Singer’s Sewing Bible, take note: she doesn’t just sew fabric! Ruth took the proof pages from her book (known as Sewn Up in Britain) and has turned them into an amazing paper textile. I love the intricate geometry and incredible way the paper drapes when sewn like this. She says: “I’ve been experimenting in paper for several years, but this is the first large piece I have made. I love using in recycled papers like magazines and old maps, but I wanted to use papers that were really personal and significant to me.”
For those of you in the UK, check out her website for workshops and exhibition dates.
