Amanda of Wit and Whistle posted a fun idea for an empty wine bottle – make it into a cool-looking light, by stuffing a string of lights inside! The trick is that you drill a hole in the side of the bottle, near the bottom. That way the cord that plugs into the wall isn’t coming out the top of the bottle. This might be an interesting substitute for a candelabra at a dinner party.

How hot does the bottle get???
looks great!
how did you drill the hole thru the bottle?
cheers
Hi,
Love this idea! What kind of drill tip did you use to drill through the glass?
Thanks!
For drilling the hole, get a glass-cutting bit from Home Depot or Lowes. Goes through very smoothly and quickly but works best with a drill press; I’d be extremely careful using a hand-held drill.
