Maker Faire

Circuit-bending workshop

Type: Workshop
Program Area: Music

Day/Time: Sunday, April 23 1:30 PM (90 minutes)

Location: Dark Room Workshop

Reconfigure consumer electronics into works of sonic madness their designers never intended! Learn how to turn most any musical instrument or audio toy into a full-fledged, squawking, blipping, garbage-spewing monster. Bring your disused instruments and thrift store finds and give them new life. Bring a soldering iron if you've got one (we'll have extras if you don't): this is hands-on experimentation!

Presented by

James Marks

James' quest to make music with the least money outlay possible has led to a history of broken toys, circuit-bent alarm clocks, tape loops, and dumpstered guitars. While not searching for the magic hidden in the heart of every electronic beast, James presides over VGKids, a screen printing company geared towards bands and labels.
