Aaron writes “Most of us cannot afford fancy 7.1 surround sound systems or feel that we do not utilize the computer’s audio functions enough to reap the benefit of one. However, most of us have stereos. That and a few cables is all you need to enjoy a nice audio system without damaging your bank account. In this article, I will show you an easy way to use your stereo as computer speakers for a nice sound system at a very low cost.” Thanks Star! Link.

oh come on now, if you can’t go to walmart and figure out what cords you need on your own you dont deserve to have audio through your sterio. This article is definatly not worth of the make blog.
TitaniumFrog -99% of the articles and posts here are pretty geeky, once and awhile i put in one for folks that aren’t so hardcore (i was asked about this via email a couple times, so now it’ll be a post i can send a url to).
I’ve been doing this for almost 10 years.
and it works great. Oops, forgot to write that. :)
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If any of you are going to do this, please use a GROUND LOOP ISOLATOR (http://www.xitel.com/product_gli.htm). A writer at CNet didn’t and ended up frying a $1000 Denon receiver.
All you need is a headphone to RCA cable to do this. You’re not exactly making anything in this MAKE article ;)
