OK, this isn’t Microsoft’s SPOT technology, it’s another one, from Sun and it’s all about sensors – “Sun Microsystems detailed on Monday a Java-based wireless-sensor development kit that it intends to sell to researchers, universities and hobbyist programmers.” – Link.

This looks great…but at $500 for a developer’s kit, it’s not exactly maker friendly :(
$500 is for an kit with 3 spots, two of them with sensor board.
Anyway, you can submit a proposal and get free spots.
