MAKE Flickr photo pool member sparktography has some nice shots of the MAKE draw bot! – “Taken at Seattle Mind Camp 3.0 – Seattle’s premiere un-conference featuring the best and brightest of technology all under the same roof for 24 hours learning from each other, and exploring our passions. Most shots taken with a Lensbaby 2G – The MAKE crew was there and they brought their hand crafted drawing robot. Take a picture, convert it to vector art, and BAM – it draws it with any pen you place in it’s grasp.”Link & Seattlest mention here.

  1. See. I don’t get this. Right now I’m building a 3 axis cnc machine. And it’s bloody expensive to aquire the parts and put together.
Now. Why would I build something like this, if I can print out exactly the same thing on my printer.

    Doesn’t make much sense.

  2. Why would you build a cnc machine if you can just buy one, or use someone else’s? Why do anything?

I’m pretty sure the point of this machine isn’t to print out resumes.

  3. Wow, Bre. Looks like the software has come a long way since you featured the Draw bot in Weekend projects. No more angular crosshatching? Looks cool! How about showing us some more recent drawings? I think the Draw Bot really should have his (her?) own Flickr account.
