This is a solar air convection heater for my garage that is powered by the low angle winter sun. This is a second version of an earlier instructable I did; a solar heater for the chicken coop. The idea and design is from Mother Earth News (December/January 2007 Issue #219.

Ingredients:

  • 2×6 lumber
  • 2×4 lumber
  • 2×2 lumber
  • glass, plexiglass, or some kind of clear material.
  • black aluminum screen
  • caulking, paint, screws, lag screws, staple gun + other tools

Do you have any data about how much additional heat this provides?

You have to add “.aspx” to the end of the link given in the article to get it to work. (Why is such a fine magazine using a hideous Microsoft system to serve their pages???)
