This simple project combines a touchscreen mounted on some servo motors so that it maintains the balance of a ball bearing centered on its surface as it tilts. Although its purpose remains a question for all, we still applaud the simplicty and elegance of this device. Check out the video above for the full effect.

  1. Seriously excellent piece of engineering! Congratulations to the people who did this.

    I was, however, hoping they’d throw another ball on there… but I’m not sure if it’s possible to balance two at the same time. Maybe next semester :-).

  2. Excellent work! Looks like they need a variable sensitivity algorithm to slow down the jitter as the ball nears the center but this is first rate.
