Just this morning Cory Doctorow blogged this snapshot, taken by one “Joel,” of an ancient gear burial ground at a scrapyard near Charlotte, NC. I wonder how many wild-eyed steampunks they’ve had come sniffing around since then. [via Boing Boing]

  1. I have about a 1000 different artsy/makey projects pop into my head with that one image. Let’s see, it would be about an 8 hour drive one way for me. I wonder what it costs to rent a heavy dump truck. ::sigh:: If only. . . .

  2. Wow. Yeah, that’s like a steampunk fever dream. Can I just shovel half of that into the bed of my hatchback? I love what looks like a rust strata.
