How-To: Thread Sketching

Erin of Elysian Studios created a wonderfully simple tutorial for using your sewing machine as a sketching tool. Add a darning foot, drop your feed dogs, and start drawing with thread. (Don’t worry, she provides a lot more detail than that right over here.
I love how she’s layered paper and fabric into a collage and then sketched over the layers. Couldn’t you see an amazing set of placemats or a custom lamp shade made from this technique?
