Michele Pacey occasionally embarks on crafting series on her blog, Michele Made Me. She takes one creative technique and makes a string of projects that explore its possibilities.
In her gum wrapper chain series, she adapted this time-honored technique into a beautiful gift topper (pictured above), a lampshade, a picture frame and wreath, and a bracelet.

I love all the cool things that can emerge when you settle into one idea for a while. And, what a great way to make use of old phone books!

  1. I remember using gum wrappers as a child and making long chains of Juicy Fruit and Double Mint gum!!!
At least with the phone books you don’t have to chew packs and packs of gum just to get the wrappers! What a great way to use the phonebooks….heck, you’ll never run out of them!!!!

  3. Wait! Just looked at the instructions – it’s isn’t orange peel at all. Hmm, I’m gonna try mine from orange peel. Never know, right?
