Instructables user mikesoniat created a solar-powered shrub that charges phones and other devices with a USB socket. Power is harvested by the solar panel leaves while the roots of this shrub convert this into useful power with the help of a Li-po battery pack and charge controller. The stems connect to the base of the plant with 1/8th inch audio jacks, making the electronic plant poseable and upgradeable if mikesonait would ever want larger solar panels.
