DIY Smart Phone Mittens

Trying to text while out in the cold? You certainly wouldn’t be long getting frostbit digits without these handy smart phone mittens from Becky Stern over at adafruit! Of course, DIY smart phone gloves exist already, but if you prefer the comfort of mittens over gloves while handling your phone, then this is the knitting project for you!

For the most part this is a fairly ordinary mitten knitting pattern, but in order to operate your touch screen while wearing these mittens, conductive yarn is knitted into the upper hand and thumb portions of the pattern. So, for the more accomplished knitters out there, this could be a fun way to add some additional utility to your favorite knitting patterns by simply incorporating some conductive yarn into your projects!
