You can jazz up your garden in lots of ways: A bench; a tasteful birdbath; a storm-resistant lawn gnome.
Or a bison that’s the size of an NBA player and is made of 45,143 Legos.

Artist Sean Kenney’s solo exhibition, Nature Connects, is touring botanical gardens and zoos all over the U.S. It features huge foxes, frogs, butterflies, and bees constructed entirely of the Danish building blocks.

“Unlike traditional sculpture, you can’t just carve out a shape or add to a surface,” Kenney explains. “You have to think ahead as you’re building upwards linearly.” The artist wanted to show relationships within nature. (He also just loves Legos — he’s written seven children’s books about them.)

The plastic fauna has been on tour, traveling from Nebraska to Florida, since the spring of 2012, and will migrate across America until 2019, flocking to cities like San Francisco, Atlanta, Salt Lake City, and San Antonio.
