DIY Yarn Holder Made From a Toilet Paper Stand

yarn-holder-1

While it may not be the most demure piece of crafting equipment, this ingenious DIY yarn holder made from a toilet paper stand certainly seems to get the job done! Cher of the craft alternative came up with this unique invention when she acquired a toilet paper holder for free from a house that she was helping renovate and discovered the virtues of using it as a yarn holder for her crafty projects.

Sometimes, I get tired of having to corral my yarn when knitting or crocheting. I also have several furry critters that like to make a huge mess out of it! Creating a yarn holder out of a toilet paper stand keeps the yarn clean, off the floor, and out of the paws of yarn bandits! Plus, the yarn can be wrapped on empty cardboard toilet paper rolls which will help the yarn feed smoothly.

The key to this clever hack is her use of a yarn winder to wrap yarn around an old toilet paper roll that she can then place on the toilet paper stand to smoothly dispense her yarn. So, if you’ve got a toilet paper stand and a yarn winder at your disposal, you might just consider putting them together for a more efficient crafting experience!
