The folks at Sumo Science produced this awesome short film, Dot, as an advertisement for Nokia. The whole thing was made using a cell phone, custom microscope attachment, a homebrew precision motion table, microscopic 3d printed models, and a lot of skill and time. I especially enjoyed the making-of video that shows the amount of craft that went into producing it:
