I’m definitely the girl who gets really, really excited about all of the pattern variation sketches on vintage sewing patterns. There’s just something about the creativity and stretch-your-dollar attitude of those older pattern packages that leaves me feeling smugly satisfied that I’m actually getting my money’s worth. I don’t always feel the same way about modern patterns, but the new Hawthorn Dress from my pals at Colette Patterns has me feeling darn pretty nostalgic.
Hooray for a pretty dress for all seasons plus a flattering fitted button-down top! (And hooray for a pattern that looks just as good in gauzy summertime sleeveless as it does with long sleeves in heavier, cool-weather style!)
Ready to spiff up your summertime wardrobe? You can purchase the pattern here, then head over to the Coletterie blog for more photos and inspiration or join the Hawthorn sewalong!
