I’ll admit it: There are few things that I enjoy more than snooping around other people’s workspaces. (With permission, of course!) And, I’m clearly not alone. Whenever multiple crafters are in the same place, it’s really only a matter of time before storage tips are exchanged, studio tours are arranged, and smartphones are pulled out to share photos of card catalog drawers and shelves crammed with supply-filled mason jars. When it comes to my own embroidery supplies, I’m the kind of gal who immediately winds new floss onto a bobbin, then stores it in an embroidery floss box. Then, to keep track of colors, I tuck the tag between the floss and the bobbin. Alas, in the trip between my worktable and the couch, somehow one or two tags always manage to get lost, which is incredibly frustrating when I’m trying to identify a color or dye lot. I’m always looking for a better way to keep everything organized, and I think Jenny’s method of slipping the tag right onto the peg of her floss rack is absolutely brilliant. In addition to keeping colors in order, it also provides a great visual cue when you’re running out of a regularly-used color. An empty peg with a color tag on it would certainly make it quick and easy to compose a supply list!
