Jill Lanza’s Embroidered Images of Electronics

jill-lanza-1

Artist Jill Lanza beautifully depicts images of electronics that we incessantly touch with our hands in a thoughtful series of hand-stitched embroidery pieces.

The delicacy and strength of thread holds meaning as a domestic material that I challenge in process and strength. Whether in the confines of a loom, frame, a book, or an installation space, I seek to construct artificial spaces for the viewer to discover new narratives.

You can see these works in person starting May 17th at werkspace in Chicago. The opening is from 6 to 10 pm.
