Carly Glovinski makes stuff that you’re used to seeing out of stuff that you’re not used to seeing it made out of…does that make sense? So basically, you get a real shock when you realize what it is that you’re actually looking at. For instance, that kiddie pool is made out of paper and acrylic. And those grocery bags are made from tracing paper, ink, some correction fluid, and adhesive.
She currently has an exhibition, called “DECOY,” at June Fitzpatrick Gallery in Portland, Maine.
