Hey Makers! I’ve been busy building my very own MIDI-controlled Drumbot using the HighlyLiquid MIDI decoder kit.

I’m going to be conducting a workshop detailing how to build and implement the kit on Friday, May 2 as part of BENT festival Minneapolis. Free kits will be given to workshop participants, limited to the first 12 people to sign up onsite. I’ll walk everyone through assembly and then we’ll commence with the Drumbot action!

Other excellent workshops will be given throughout the weekend on circuit bending, analog sensor interfacing, and working with the 555 timer. Also, there will be many excellent performances by groups that use circuit-bent instruments, a barbeque, and interactive electronic art installations. Anyone who’s caught the electronic maker’s bug will surely have a fun time!

Nice incorporation of a Buddha box into the setup! – Robot drummer
