Needle-Felted Bobak Ferdowsi – “The Mohawk Guy”

You might recognize Bobak Ferdowsi if you watched the Mars rover Curiosity landing this summer. He was the guy with the red and blue mohawk, complete with yellow stars on the side of his head. Bobak was an American Systems Engineer at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and he’s become somewhat of an internet celebrity, with hand-drawn portraits of his iconic ‘do and marriage proposals popping up on Twitter and Facebook.

Leticia Rocha-Zivadinovic of Cretur Fetur pays tribute to Bobak Ferdowski’s patriotic mohawk with a needle-felted model of him, and I think it’s sweet way to remember those moments the world shared, watching Curiosity land on Mars.
