New Crafty Cable-Dyeing Tricks

Perhaps the best part of my work is hearing from people who have taken one of my projects and run with it. Elizabeth saw my recent PVC-dyeing hack and applied some real craftspersonship to the process, using the dye in two new ways that never would’ve occurred to me. The top cord has been tie-dyed and the bottom one resist-dyed.

The little stars were punched out of blue painter’s tape and applied to the cord before dyeing. I wouldn’t have thought the tape would hold up to the PVC solvent, but it clearly does. The edges are clean and sharp. More pics over at Frogget’s Crafts.

Thanks, Elizabeth, for reading, for doing, and for sharing. Fancy colored extensions cords may not change the world, but seeing these sure made my day. Cheers!
