If you’ve ever just wanted to hide when you were in public, but had nowhere to go, then you might want to start wearing your very own “Nutshell,” a project by SVA student Eden Lew. Lew created her homemade prototype for an assignment in which her class was asked to “redesign the next thing they threw out.” So, after throwing out a sandwich wrapper, she eventually ended up with an ingenious wearable isolation pod, which allows her to eat a sandwich in private even when she’s in public!
This project is just a great example of the potential of crafting to deal with our own quirky idiosyncrasies with a little creativity and a positive DIY attitude!
