Sakovich’s Rattle Can Canvases

San Francisco graffiti artist Rob Sakovich has spent the past 25 years in a world of rattle cans, and his spin on using them stacked as canvases is brilliant. His love of Northern California and the city by the Bay comes through in colors both vibrant and sublime. If you’re in the Bay Area, you can check out his first solo show opening this Saturday, December 8, at the Blackbird Bar on Market Street. Here are some of my favorite pieces, with more eye candy on his Flickr page.

I'm a word nerd who loves to geek out on how emerging technology affects the lexicon. I was an editor on the first 40 volumes of MAKE, and I love shining light on the incredible makers in our community. In particular, covering art is my passion — after all, art is the first thing most of us ever made. When not fawning over perfect word choices, I can be found on the nearest mountain, looking for untouched powder fields and ideal alpine lakes.
