Sew Cool: Artist Embroiders These Travel “Photos” on the Spot

Throughout the world, tourists are pretty easy to spot. Their cameras and persistent picture-taking are usually a dead giveaway, but in artist Teresa Lim’s case you might have to look for the person embroidering by hand to identify the tourist.

Instead of just taking pictures of the views that she encounters on her travels, Lim actually sits down and hand embroiders the scenes on the spot. She then she shrewdly documents her work by taking a picture of her embroidery held up to the landscape that she’s depicted in thread.

Her on-going series is called “Sew Wanderlust,” and you can follow her threaded adventures on Instagram as well!
